OK, so I’m stretching the word “make” past the breaking point, I know.
But yesterday afternoon I received an arduino in the mail. In short order, following the instructions on the web, I had it hooked up to and flashing a LED to my command. So I did the obvious thing and wrote a program to make it send out morse code messages.
I haven’t really done much more than that, but I’m pretty excited about it and the possibilities, so I figured I’d share.

I’ve seen the arduino before on other websites. It looks really interesting and fun. I may have to purchase one myself some time.
Heck, if you’re hard core, you can *make* your own arduino.
I am not that hardcore.
This thing looks a lot like a small, hobby version of some of the hardware I used when doing thermoacoustic research as an undergrad. Definitely could be fun to play around with. About how much did it set you back by, if I may ask?
I bought mine for $30 on amazon. There are also cheaper options out there when you know what you’re doing.
