The long belated bookcase

This last week I finally finished the second of a pair of bookcases that I started over 2 years ago. Here they are, next to each other.

The sad thing is, even with the addition of a very sizable bookcase, we still don’t have enough shelf space for all our books. I need to make another one!

  1. Lack of bookshelf space is a continual problem for us. We love books way too much. Those ones look good, nice job!

  2. Those bookcases look amazing! What kind of timber are they constructed from? I’m a bit of a bookcase nut myself, and these really appeal to me.

    • The case is made from 3/4″ oak-veneer-faced plywood. The front frame and trim are made from eastern (US) red oak.
